Never stop questioning
I strongly believe that, while practice without research support is ungrounded, practice with research support is targeted and impactful.
As such, throughout my career I have endeavored to balance my scholarly interests with real-world applications and work. Through my scholarship I strive to create new knowledge and insights aimed at helping individuals, teams and organizations fulfill their creative potential.
My research efforts have focused on demonstrating the impact and value of creativity training, illuminating the skills and characteristics of creative leadership, and identifying the thinking preferences associated with the creative process. In case of the latter, this work has resulted in a self-report measure called FourSight that has been used by more than 100,000 people around the world – and has been incorporated into more than 25 different research studies to date.
