A Critically Important Skill for Shaping a Better World
In the 21st century workplace, creative problem solving is widely recognized as a crucial skill: a recent survey by Bloomberg and BusinessWeek found that creative-problem-solving is among the top five skills employers desire – and the second most difficult to find. I have specialized in the subject of creative problem solving, I wrote several books on the topic, and I trained more than 20,000 people in 30 countries around the globe in this applied creative-thinking process.
Many educational leaders and scholars agree that schools often do more to inhibit than to promote creative thinking. Meanwhile, a survey shows us that nearly 70% of HR managers aren’t sure how to develop this talent among employees. There’s a perfect storm brewing – creative thinking is in high demand, but our educational experiences and talent development specialists come up short in cultivating this crucial skill.
However, practice and research in the field of creativity has clearly and unequivocally shown that creative thinking and creative problem solving are trainable skills. At the Center for Applied Imagination – the first ever university curriculum in creativity in the world – I have been teaching and training creative thinking for more than 30 years.
Organizations who have benefited from my expertise:
My expectations were high attending the level one Creativity Workshop after colleagues had shared their high praise of Gerard Puccio and how much they valued his instruction. Well, I found the three days profound, valuable and enjoyable. Gerard’s engaging style is only outdone by his willingness to share powerful secrets for harnessing every-person’s creativity to achieve big impact in a fast-paced and rapidly changing world.
I’d highly recommend this experience for anyone who is looking for a competitive edge in business and in life.
